What is an e-Invoice?
A digital representation of a transaction between a supplier and a buyer, replacing paper or electronic invoices, credit notes and debit notes. It is validated and stored in near real time through LHDN’s MyInvois system.
When do I need to start?
It depends on your annual turnover or revenue: more than RM100 million from 1 August 2024; RM25-100 million from 1 January 2025; RM5-25 million from 1 July 2025; up to RM5 million from 1 January 2026. Businesses with less than RM3 million are exempted. Check hasil.gov.my for the latest timeline.
Which documents are affected?
Invoices, credit notes, debit notes and refund notes.
Does it apply to sales to consumers?
Yes. e-Invoice covers B2B, B2C and B2G transactions.
What is a consolidated e-Invoice?
For B2C sales where the customer does not ask for an e-Invoice, businesses can combine the sales into a consolidated e-Invoice. Both Million and AutoCount support it. With Million POS or AutoCount POS, customers who need their own e-Invoice scan the QR code on the receipt, and AutoCount POS can consolidate outlets with a click.
What is a self-billed e-Invoice?
An e-Invoice issued by the buyer instead of the supplier, for example for imports or commissions paid to agents, dealers and distributors. Both Million and AutoCount support self-billed e-Invoices, and AutoCount lets you copy purchase invoices and payment vouchers into them.
What happens if LHDN MyInvois is down?
With the AutoCount e-Invoice Platform (AIP), invoices are queued and resubmitted automatically until they are validated.
Does Million support e-Invoice?
Yes. Million supports standard, consolidated and self-billed e-Invoices, as does AutoCount. Contact us to check whether your version needs an upgrade.
Can Rockbell help us set it up?
Yes. We check your system, set up the e-Invoice function, train your team and support you after go-live.
